Frequently Asked Questions

NEYC Foundation is a nonprofit organisation focused on creating nurturing environments where individuals and communities can find support, build resilience, and regain confidence. Our work centres on grief support, youth mentorship, and community outreach, with a focus on emotional well-being, meaningful connection, and healing.

Our programmes are designed to support individuals and communities who may benefit from compassionate guidance, meaningful connection, and supportive environments. This includes people navigating grief and loss, young people who need mentorship and encouragement, and community members who want to participate in initiatives that promote emotional well-being.

NEYC Foundation currently focuses on three core programmes: Grief Support Groups, Youth Mentorship, and Community Outreach. Each programme addresses a different aspect of our mission, while collectively working towards healthier, more supportive communities.

Our Grief Support Groups provide safe and compassionate spaces where people navigating loss can connect with others who understand their experiences. Participants have opportunities to share, listen, connect, and receive encouragement in an environment built around understanding and mutual support.

The groups are intended to help people feel less isolated as they navigate difficult experiences and find supportive connections within their community.

The Youth Mentorship programme provides young people with meaningful guidance and supportive relationships. Through mentorship, young people can receive encouragement as they navigate challenges associated with loss and other difficult experiences, while developing resilience, confidence, and a stronger sense of possibility for the future.

Community Outreach extends NEYC Foundation’s work beyond individual programmes and into the wider community. Through volunteer-led activities, community engagement, and mental wellness initiatives, we promote conversations around emotional well-being and encourage communities to become more supportive environments for those experiencing difficult circumstances.

Yes. Volunteers can contribute their time, skills, experience, and ideas to support NEYC Foundation’s mission. Yes. We welcome conversations with organisations, institutions, community groups, professionals, and other stakeholders who share our commitment to emotional well-being, youth development, healing, and stronger communities.

There are several ways to support the Foundation. You can volunteer your time or expertise, explore a partnership, participate in community initiatives, help raise awareness about our work, or connect us with organisations and communities that may benefit from our programmes.

Every meaningful contribution can help create more nurturing environments where people feel supported and connected.

NEYC Foundation’s programmes are focused on support, mentorship, community connection, and emotional well-being. They should not be presented as a replacement for professional mental health treatment or specialised clinical care.

Where someone may require professional or specialised assistance, appropriate referral or guidance should be considered. If you are unsure what type of support may be appropriate, you can contact NEYC Foundation to discuss your situation.

We recognise that conversations surrounding grief, loss, trauma, and emotional well-being can be deeply personal. NEYC Foundation is committed to treating people with dignity, respect, and sensitivity.
